Amsterdam: De Autonomen, n.d. but 1980. Original photo-illustrated poster (61x43cm.) printed offset in black on white stock; wrinkling to extremities, tiny closed tear at bottom edge not approaching text, else Very Good and sound.
Protest poster calling for a massive demonstration on the day of Queen Beatrix's coronation, April 30, 1980. The photographic illustration dates from March 10, 1966, when a smoke bomb was detonated during the marriage ceremony of Beatrix and Claus von Amsberg. The poster reminds participants to come prepared with helmets, etc. In fact, the protest would devolve into a riot with the public clashing against mounted and riot police, one man beaten so badly he would lose his hearing.
