Novel of the lynching of a black man accused of rape in a small southern shanty town, published in the United States the same year under the title "Night at Hogwallow." "A tale of mob law" - upper jacket panel. See COAN, p. 193, and HANNA 3397, for the first edition. This edition rather uncommon institutionally, with OCLC finding only two copies in North America as of May, 2017.
