Die Pflanzenwelt der Deutschen Heimat und der angrenzenden Gebiete [3 (of 4) Volumes: Der Wald / Seen, Moore, Wiesen, Heiden / Dünen und Sandfelder Salzpflanzen, Steppenheiden, Alpine Vegetation]

Berlin: Hugo Bermühler Verlag, ca. 1930-1935. First Edition. Thick folios (29.75cm.); publisher's green cloth-backed marbled boards (Vol. III marbled boards differ from Vols. I & II), top edges green; 424 photographic plates, many in color. Vol. III boards a bit rubbed with some small paper flaws to marbled paper, else a Near Fine set, albeit lacking the last volume (the set was issued serially; these three volumes complete the work up to 1935). Hueck was a professor of botany at the University of Berlin, though he lost his post in 1937 due to his criticism of the Nazi Party. He was eventually deported to a labor camp in 1944, though he would survive to return to his old post in Berlin at the end of World War II.
