China: ca. 1960s. 12 rubber figures measuring approx. 12x11 to 14x15cm., some with Chinese inscriptions to pedestal. General dust-soiling, a few uniformly darkened or slightly discolored, else a Very Good, sound collection. Each figure is unique from the others, whether in size or inscription. Includes quite an uncommon bust of Mao (the only we've seen) in which he is wearing civilian clothes rather than his usual military attire. Rubber Maos were produced quite prodigiously during the Cultural Revolution as a cheap alternative to a glass or plaster version.
