Broadside: "We Support Ghetto Rebellions"
N.p. Students for a Democratic Society, [ca.1967-68]. Mimeographed document expounding on one of the key proposals of the SDS, the support of ghetto rebellions in attempts to combat racism and defeat nationalism. "The mass media, including the Record American, portray ghetto uprisings as "aimless riots" caused by "the long hot summer." In reality, they are fights for jobs, for better housing, fights against the oppressive conditions of ghetto life" (from introduction). The document provides paragrah-length responses to the following five questions: How to ghetto rebellions start? Are these rebellions "aimless and desctructive acts?" Are rebellions directed against whites? Should you support these rebellions? Who we are and why this ad? Rare; not found in OCLC, and not reproduced under this title in any SDS publication we have seen or handled. Single sheet of beige stock, mimeographed on recto only, measuring 8.5" x 11". Mild toning along left edge, faint horizontal fold at center, with a small stain on verso; Very Good+.
