Career of a Nihilist, written in English during his exile in London, gained Kravchinski instant celebrity and did much to popularize the cause of the Russian revolutionaries. He died in 1895, under somewhat mysterious circumstances - he fell beneath a freight train that apparently did not share his political beliefs.
