[Item #25735] Lettre a M. Thiers. Émile BARRAULT.

Lettre a M. Thiers

Paris: Alexandre-Pierre, 1848. First Edition. Tabloid-format broadsheet (46cm.); text in triple column; uniformly browned, previous folds, else Very Good and sound.

Second letter of a series of three by Barrault, composed shortly after the Revolution of 1848, and addressed to leading political and public figures, including Alphonse de Lamartine and David Rothschild. Barrault, a staunch Saint-Simonian socialist and editor of the Tocsan des Travailleurs (The Workers' Alarm Bell), here attacks the former three-time prime minister of the July Monarchy Adolphe Thiers, who, after the exile of Louis Philippe I, had taken up the position of conservative republican, unpopularly voting for Louis Napoleon for president.
