Illustrated Record of German Army Equipment, 1939-1945. Volume III: Armoured Fighting Vehicles [cover title]

[London]: War Office, 1947. First Edition. One of a 5-volume record of the armament of the German Land Forces during World War II, part of which never made it into service. Designed to be chiefly a photographic album with cursory information for each piece of equipment, with numbers quoted from German sources rather than American or British reports. Album separated into three sections, "Tanks," "Self propelled Artillery," and "Armoured cars." Almost certainly produced in very limited numbers and designed to be used as a general inventory since detailed mechanical and technological descriptions of many of the machines had already been published. We were able to located 4 copies of Vol. III in OCLC as of January, 2015, the Combined Arms Reserach Library (Kansas) only in North America. Folio (34cm.); original post-bound boards backed with black cloth tape, illustrated and printed leaf on blue stock mounted to upper cover; [2],78pp. printed from typescript; 13 folding tables, 82 leaves of photographs and drawings, nearly all printed on both rectos and versos. Extremities quite rubbed, upper cover mounted leaf faded along top and bottom edges; minor foxing to preliminaries, else interior Fine. Rubberstamps reading "Supplied for the Public Service" repeated inside both covers.
