Moskva: Rossiyskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Federativnaya Sovetskaya Respublika, ca. 1920. Broadside (69.25x53.25cm.); printed within pictorial border and illustrated with four captioned vignettes; inconsistently toned, shallow chips and a few tears affecting text with very small loss of meaning (if one is mostly unfamiliar with Russian) to imprint; rebacked on linen with old repairs; still, Very Good over all. Soviet poster whose title translates as "Work Conditions at the Donets Basin." Illustrations depict the deplorable work conditions of the Donbass coal mines and its bedraggled miners, working in waste-high floods, in unreinforced mines susceptible to collapse, the last illustrations showing a 13-year-old girl doing the work of a grown man. Undated, though most likely produced just before the Soviet take-over of the Donbass region. Poster not in OCLC as of October, 2014.
