Warmly inscribed and signed by Aiken to Mormon-cum-lesbian actress Ada Russell, "with very pleasant recollections / from Conrad Aiken." Russell was the partner of Pulitzer Prize-winning poet Amy Lowell, of whose work Aiken was a great detractor, referring to her as his "old enemy" in a letter to Robert N. Linscott, May 14, 1925, on learning of Lowell's death.
