N.p. [New York]: International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, ca 1937. The 1937 Sit-Down strike against the Emerson Electrical Company in St. Louis lasted 53 days - the second-longest sit-down in American labor history. This banner, printed by a New York City local of the Radio Union, was probably not used in the actual sit-down, but more likely was used in a solidarity strike in New York. A very well-preserved example. Original canvas strike banner. Dimensions 61cm x 36cm (ca 24" x 14-1/2"). Printed in red and blue inks on white canvas, with brass grommets for hanging. Light soil and foxing; old horizontal crease; Very Good.
