[Drop title] Beyond Bureaucracy

[Washington, DC]: Howard University / School of Social Work, [1967]. Offprint. Quarto (28cm.); paper-clipped and hole-punched document; 10ll. printed from typescript. Rust-soil from paper clip, brief pencil underlining, light soil to rear wrapper, else Very Good. Article by a pioneer of "leadership studies" criticizing "the bureaucratic form of organization [as] becoming less and less effective" (p. [1]), instead describing a form of management that "will be more technical, complicated, and unprogrammed. [A firm] will rely more on the intellect than muscle" (p. 7). This appears to have been reprinted for internal purposes from Washington University's "Trans-Action Magazine." Not to be confused with Bennis's collection of articles published under the same title.
