First Edition.
8°; publisher’s pictorial cloth boards; (vii), 8-480pp; 11 plates. Mild rubbing to cloth; scattered foxing; early ownership signature. A solidly VG copy, better than usually seen of this rather cheaply-produced book. HOWES D5. The first and still the standard account of the great Railway Strike of 1877, generally considered the first full-scale national strike in the United States. Howes also lists a St. Louis issue with identical collation; there is no apparent priority between the two. 8vo.
