Finger Print and Identification Magazine. Vol. 26, No. 2 (August, 1944).
Chicago:
The Institute of Applied Sciences
1944.
Original Wraps.
Serial Publication.
Digest format (approx. 8-1/2" x 7"); 32pp; illus. Clean and unmarked; Near Fine. Attractive copy of this long-lived but narrowly-held periodical, devoted to amateur detection, each issue featuring dozens of mug-shots of wanted criminals along with their fingerprints (devoted readers could supposedly use the fingerprinting techniques described in the journal's editorial pages to "nab" these criminals and collect rewards). This issue includes coverage of the I.A.I. (International Association for Identification) convention in Deadwood, S.D.; accompanied with a photographic illustration of Two Sticks in the Deadwood Jail, 1894 -- a few days prior to his hanging for massacring a group of Black Hills settlers. Though Finger Print and Identification Magazine was published from 1919 through the early 1970s, issues, especially from this era, remain scarce on the market. 4to.
