From our earliest days as booksellers we've stocked a strong selection of fine press books, books on collecting, and the book arts in general. With the acquisition in 2004 of the collection of the late Richard and Margot Archer–printers, librarians, and bibliophiles par excellence–we were able to add substantially to our already strong holdings in this area. From the Archers came an excellent Eric Gill collection; long runs of Typophiles monographs; and hundreds of examples of work from the West Coast fine printers of the 1920s-40s, including William Everson (later Brother Antoninus); John Henry Nash; the Grabhorns; Ward Ritchie; Lewis and Dorothy Allen, and many others, most of whom were close friends with the Archers.
We continue to expand our inventory in this area. Our catalogued on-line holdings represent only a fraction of our total inventory, so if you have specific interests please let us know–what we don't have in stock at the moment we can usually devise a way of acquiring in short order.
