Account of the October 1964 election in Smethwick (UK) by Griffiths, who won the seat as Smethwick MP in the 1964 general election against Labour Party candidate Patrick Gordon Walker. Smethwick's deep divisions, racial and anti-immigrant issues drew comparisons to Little Rock and Selma at the time.
