Professionally linen-backed, with old fold lines faintly visible; expert infilling and retouching to a few pinpoint areas at the intersection of upper-center folds; very Near Fine. A-.

Superb example of this War Department poster created by J.W. Schlaikjer, where viewers are told that industrial accidents hinder America's ability to win the war and demonstrating the importance of workplace safety. Schlaikjer was a prominent artist from the DC area, who became Official Artist of the U.S. War Department in 1942, securing an office in the Pentagon, from which he issued a long series of wartime inspirational posters for morale and recruiting. Prior to the war, he created an extensive body of work for pulp magazines like Black Mask and Adventure, as well as mainstream publications like Red Book, Collier's, and Woman's Home Companion.
