Black cloth boards, lettered in silver on spine; dustjacket; 240pp. Inscribed and signed by Morris Ernst on front endpaper to Senator Richard M. Nixon: "For Senator Nixon - who will no doubt disagree but may still respect the desire to work out a solution other than McCarthyism," undated but apparently contemporary with period of publication. Light wear and soil; bit of foxing to endpapers; jacket slightly faded on spine: a solid, VG copy. We rather suspect it was political expediency, not any respect for Ernst or this book, that caused Nixon to distance himself from the tactics of McCarthyism in the mid-1950s...but it's still a great association!
